Book a service

Privacy Policy

Plain English: I collect only what I need to service your shoes and to talk to you about them.

Last updated 5 October 2026.

What I collect

When you use a form on this site I receive what you put into it: your name, your email address, your phone number if you give one, the services you are asking about, whatever you tell me about your pair, and any photos you upload. If you join the email cheat sheet sign-up, I keep your email address for that.

Why I collect it

To quote your job, to arrange drop-off or mail-in, to keep you updated on your pair, and to answer you. If you asked for the free Sneaker Care Cheat Sheet, to send it to you and, now and then, care tips and drop announcements. That is all.

Who else sees it

This site is hosted by Netlify, and form submissions are stored there so that I can read them. Photos uploaded with a booking may be stored with Cloudflare. Payments are handled by the payment provider shown at checkout, so I never see or store your card details. I do not sell your information, and I never hand your details to another business to market to you. There are two places where something about you leaves this site, and both have their own section below so you can read exactly what goes and why: the advertising matching described in the next section, and the talking assistant, which only sends anything at all if you choose to talk to it.

Analytics and advertising

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use, so I know what is working. It also uses advertising tools from Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok, which tell those platforms that a visit happened and whether a booking was started or sent. That lets me show my own ads to people who have already been here.

These tools receive the sort of thing every website sees: the pages you looked at, roughly where in the world you are, and what browser you used.

Meta also receives a scrambled version of the contact details you type into a form here - your email address, phone number and name. This is a Meta feature called Advanced Matching, and I have it switched on. Your details are scrambled in your own browser before they are sent, using a one-way method that Meta cannot reverse to read your email address. What Meta can do is compare that scramble against its own records, and tell that you are someone with a Facebook or Instagram account. That is the whole purpose: it is how I can tell that a booking came from one of my posts, and how I can put an offer back in front of someone who visited and did not finish.

What is never sent to Meta, TikTok or Google: your photos, your card details, the notes you write about your pair, and your street address.

If you would rather not be included: most browsers can block these tools through their tracking-protection or cookie settings, and blocking them stops the matching too, because the scrambling happens in your browser. Meta and TikTok also let you limit ad personalisation in your own account settings on their platforms. And you can always book by messaging me directly instead, which involves none of this.

The talking assistant

It is not me. It is an AI assistant that answers questions about my services using a voice built from a recording of mine, with my permission. It will tell you it is an AI if you ask it, and it is labelled as one on screen. It cannot take a booking, see your order, take a payment, or make a promise on my behalf.

It does nothing until you tap it. Your microphone stays off until you start a conversation, your browser asks you first, and it stops when you close it. If you never tap it, nothing on this page listens to you and nothing about you is sent anywhere.

Once you are talking to it, two companies handle the conversation. ElevenLabs turns what you say into text and produces the spoken reply. Anthropic runs the Claude model that works out what to say back. They receive what you say and what the assistant says, and nothing else: not your name, not your email, not your phone number, not your bookings, not your payment details. It has no access to any of those.

Conversations may be kept for a short period so I can check the assistant is answering correctly and fix it when it is not. Please do not say card numbers, passwords or anything sensitive to it. It has no reason to ask for any of them, and if it ever does, that is a fault and I would like to hear about it.

If you would rather not use it, do not tap it, and use the booking form or email me instead. Nothing about my service depends on talking to it.

Welcome codes

If you ask for a welcome code, I use your email address to send you the code and, if it has not been used, one reminder shortly before it expires. To keep the offer to one code per person, I also keep a scrambled, one-way version of your address, which cannot be turned back into the address itself. Asking for a code does not add you to a mailing list.

If you claim a resident code (for example as a SpringSide resident), I also keep the name and unit number you enter, alongside the code and the email it was sent to. They are used only to keep the offer to residents, one code per person and a set number per unit, and to see which codes have been used. They are not shared with the property or anyone else, and they are not added to a mailing list.

Photos of your shoes

I photograph work before, during and after service for condition records and quality control. Booking a service allows those photos of the item to be used on social media and on this site, as the Terms of Service set out. Your name and contact details are never published alongside them, and you can opt out any time by emailing me.

How long I keep it

Enquiries and booking records are kept while they are useful for servicing and for my own records. Cheat sheet sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any email I send.

Your choices

You can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email footedbyreesey@gmail.com and I will sort it out.
